Level 1 Distance Certificate Program in Expressive Arts Therapy
April 2013 - October 2013

- A 6 month intensive training in the fundamentals of expressive arts therapy.
- An introduction for individuals who may want to use the arts in their clinical practise, community work or for personal experience.
- A degree is not required but an openness to experience the intermodal use of expressive arts.
Program Components:
- 72 hours of in-class training
- 50 hours studio time
- 10 hours individual therapy with an arts therapists (not required but recommended)
Tuition:
- $2500
- $200 due at the time of registration (non-refundable)
- $2300 will be divided into a three month payment schedule with the first installment due in March ($800), April ($800), May ($700)

Level 2: Advanced Certificate In Expressive Arts Therapy.
July 19- August 1, 2013
- two week summer intensive training in one of two specializations Clinical or Consultant/Educator
- Clinical Specialization is geared towards providing therapists with the opportunity to further develop clinical skills with children/teens and adults and further develop their personal practice model
- Consultant/Educator Specialization will further refine your expressive arts faciliation skills, help define the scope and focus of your unique expressive arts work and to deepen your skills using a variety of modalities in consultation, facilitation or educational work
Prerequisites:
Clinical Specialization:
- Master's degree in a counselling or related field
- completed Level 1 at PIEAT OR equivalent (e.g. completed at least 70 hours of training in various expressive arts modalities)
Consultant/Teacher Specialization:
- completed Level 1 at PIEAT OR equivalent (e.g. completed at least 70 hours of training in various expressive arts modalities)
Program Components:
- 94 hours of in-class training (includes 7 hours of group supervision/consultation)
- 200 hours of supervised internship (optional)
- Final Project - Personal Practice Model
Tuition:
$2500
$200 due at the time of registration to hold your space (non-refundable)

Students will bring their questions, concerns, clinical or community cases to this course. We will have the time to process and learn from one another in creative ways.
Day 4 Expressive Arts Case Studies and Ethical Issues in an Expressive Arts Practice

This day will begin with the exploration of ethical issues in expressive arts practice. This will be followed by the student's presentations of their case studies.
